What is “Joie de Vivre”?
“Joie de Vivre” is a French phrase I fell in love with, and it translates to the joy of living. It’s a concept that can mean different things to different people. To me, it’s about finding joy in the everyday moments—the simple pleasures that fill life with happiness and optimism.
It’s easy to experience Joie de Vivre in a place like Provence, where the sun shines more than 300 days a year. But it’s so much more than that. Joie de Vivre is about making the most of what you have, finding beauty in the little things, and embracing life with a full heart—whether in moments of ease or when life presents challenges.
To me, Joie de Vivre is…
…a house filled with laughter and love from family and friends.
…the intoxicating smell of fresh croissants and baguettes from a boulangerie.
…dipping into the salty Mediterranean Sea.
…enjoying a leisurely, rosé-filled French lunch outdoors.
…the sound of cicadas lulling you into a poolside nap (maybe after that leisurely lunch).
…the sweet perfection of Pavlova.
…breathing in the air on an extra crisp day.
…Provence!
It’s all of this and more that inspired me to create Joie de Vivre Voyages. I want to share the Provence I’ve come to love with you—the beauty, the simplicity, and the joy that fills every corner. Through travel planning and my blog, I’ll bring you closer to the Provence that captured my heart, sharing recipes, trip highlights, travel tips, and more.
Joie de Vivre is about savoring life’s pleasures and sharing the joy of Provence with you.
